Good morning all,

I am currently running xcart for an ecommerce site. But I am considering moving to AspDotNetStoreFront.

I am looking for any information from anybody that has moved from one to other and what they likes/disliked about each one.

Thanks,
Patrick

I like the way AspDotNetStoreFront's administration is laid out and I just about went with them, except they wouldn't take on any customized web development directly and referred me to some 3rd party developers listed on their site. The #1 3rd party developer listed seemed very un-interesed in doing my work although I laid it out in details in a spreadsheet, then he would not get back to me. They made good on their money back policy.

I looked at X-Cart but was not interested in proceedural programming and lines and lines of functions. But if it has all the features you need, it probably doesn't matter.

I went with softslate commerce for the MVC architecture and OOP that makes it customizable in all the right ways.

Thanks Peter. Xcart is working ok - performace is terrible at times even though I have moved to a dedicated server. I am being given various ways to optimize the card - which involves digging into the 'lines and lines of procedural code' or paying to have somebody do it for me. So I have the initial outlay and then the money for optimization.

Wow I think I would be looking at something different then if you are dedicated and having performance problems.

How much traffic do you get and how many simultaneous users are on the average?

Looking at something different than what .. xcart? I am :-)

I don't really have the numbers you are asking for. I do know that as me as the admin searches take a long time. We also use it as our POS system when people call.

Ironically: The server that xcart was running on last night locked up tighter than a drum. Had to be rebooted. :(

Thanks
