I have an ecommerce store with products...there's an option for me to create an HTML catalog of all my products (if they hit 'add to cart' they go to my script based age). The feature is advertised as "search engine friendly".
I was under the impression that google "didnt like" 'duplicate' pages.
Whats the deal?

If you decide to use dynamic pages (i.e., the URL contains a "?" character), be aware that not every search engine spider crawls dynamic pages as well as static pages. It helps to keep the parameters short and the number of them few.
Search engines have no problems with duplicates on the same site, it will simply promote the strongest page, if you tried to create lots of multiple pages of the same content with different names - say 6 times for example then that would not be a good idea.
But used the way it is meant to be used it is a great feature, if it would hurt your SEO the developers would not have created it - give the developers credit for a little common sense.
cheers.
