Should I require signature on outbound package?

How do you all feel about this? Pros, cons?
This is for ecommerce shipments sent out to B2C customers within the US. We will already have delivery confirmation service, but am wondering if signature service is a plus or minus. Plus for the shipper, minus for the customer, who won't get the package unless someone is there to sign for it. Is there any benefit to signature confirmation in case of chargebacks?

We require signing on all packages. It is a BIG help with chargebacks and it also gives you proof that the package was delivered. In 3 years we've only had 1 package get returned because no one ever signed for it. If no one is home, UPS or USPS will just leave a slip for the customer to sign, they will then bring it back the next day.

Getting a signature can always help. Sometimes it is a pain for the drivers of course having to wait, etc but it would really help on the ones that say they did not recieve them but you have their signature on record
