What is you favorite paid or free cart and why?

What features do you look for in a cart?

What do you try to avoid?

Is there a cart that does not use session ID numbers in the URL (perhaps cookie based) and supports affiliate links and supports database uploads?

We use X-Cart. It does all that and can be modified to do just about anything you need, as well. You can import products into the database via admin. It has an add-on to handle the affiliate end of things. There's also a lot of mods out there - some free, some not - that are really nice. Many mods can be found on their forum, too.

Added: It's not free, but not terribly expensive - good bang for the buck.
