I am working on plans of opening an online store. It is animal related, will have forums, care sheets, food, care products, ect. I know that is not the best description but it is beside the point. I am hoping to be able to sign up with some wholesalers that will allow me to sell some of their products on my site be honestly I am not to sure where to start. Also once someone orders something from me do I then order it from the supplier and then once it gets here I then send it to the buyer? Basicly I am just hoping I do not creat more work for me then I really need.

I was helping someone setup their site that was sort of like what I am doing but then he refused to pay or give me a cut of anything so I jumped ship right away and figured why not try it out myself. I must admit I do get joy when I here from "john" and he says something like "I crashed the auction site and can't get it to run anymore" but anyways, I am searching these forums and many other places on the internet for information but am hoping some kind people on this site may be able to give me some pointers. I look forward to hearing from you.

So you'll pay shipping twice and your customers will have to wait twice as long as normal?

You need to forge a proper business relationship with a supplier - i.e - either they take your orders and blind ship for you (dropship), or you need to invest in inventory upfront.

I recommend the first, until you can prove you have the responsibility and skill to run a store successfully.

I have been searching the internet for drop shippers and have found a few but I have a couple of questions. Mainly right now I believe my question for all of you is this. Is there a website somewhere that would have customer feedback on certin drop shippers? I am trying to figure out who to go with and want to be sure I am with a good company. So if any of you have some ideas on where to start or if you curently or in the past have used a drop shipper for pet supplies please let me know.

And some weird people actually stock items to ship out when they get orders.

Depends how much you order from that supplier each day. If your ordering enough it can be a happy medium between drop-shipping and stocking (from a UK perspective, I guess in some countries distance becomes more of a factor).

When it comes to dropshippers and finding good suppliers in general there are no easy ways. You have to do your research and it takes time building up relationships and finding good ones. There are dropship lists that you can purchase, off Ebay even I think. The qualites varies a lot, you get what you pay for.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I am not sure when I will launch but right now it does not look like it is any time real soon. I need to apply for the tax id numbers and biz name and soforth. I know this is just on the net but I would like to be as legal as I can. Honestly I have no money to invest really. But I still believe I could make this site wonderful and a money maker with time. Well once again thank you to everyone for your replies.
