Due to contract issues, our co-located server needs to be moved. But I found out not many companys actually co-locate servers anymore. Alright, so I got a new host, and am prepared to move the website...

I've done small website migrations (html/css even phpNuke websites) but never one with the following:

CC processing
nightly updates from external database
live customer data

Does anyone have any advice on the steps to do this?

Site Specs:
Java (serves jsp pages)
Jakarta/Tomcat
MySQL
PERL scripts for the update function

The new server has all the software I need installed, I just dunno the steps I should take to do this...

Should I reinstall my ecommerce software and just transfer the database files?

Can I migrate all of my jsp pages as I would a normal website?

What issues do I have to think of for my ssl certificates and cc transactions?

O.O

AUGH!

No, she is not panicking... she's only got 5 days to do this in before the old host disconnects the co-located box and ships it to us!

If any of your scripts used phyiscal locations e:/host/user/html/* that could pose a problem.

Remember it may take awhile for the dns to point to the new location.

Are you prepared to shutdown the store for a day or two?

If yes, it should be easy.

Keeping the store live will complicate things.
