Hi, I've just finished my website which I now need to integrate with a CC payment company so I can accept money for my products.

Im working on the principal of selling my products for a small profit margin and selling in large numbers, so I need a card processor with good rates. At the moment im thinking of using protx VSP Direct as if I sell over 1000 orders a quarter its 10p per transaction(not the cheapest).

Just wondered if anyone had experience with protox and how you go about setting up your site with their system?

Or if you can suggest anyone else?

Most companies will offer you a better rate if you can establish a track record of decent volume, low fuss, low chargeback ratio.

Does anyone know what banks are currently offering?

I've had a look at BOS and HSBC but cant find the right pages.

HSBC appears to be:

# £250 one – off set up charge.
# 2% of every credit card transaction.
# 25p for every debit card transaction.

But not sure if thats just for terminal services.

those fees will almost certainly be for terminal services only
if you went that route you'd need an internet ID as well from the bank - internet transactions may cost extra
you would also need to sort out online processing as well with protx / secure trading / worldpay bankdirect etc - these all have their own fees as well

or save yourself a lot of time and hassle and use worldpay's worlddirect - it's an all in one solution

there are pros and cons for all systems / methods - it's your choice how you do it - you can always change later, but it helps to get it right first time

Worlddirect:

Set-up Fee: £200
Monthly Fee: £30
Please Note: £180 fee for initial 6-month term, then £30 per month ongoing

Transaction Service Charges:
· 50p per transaction for UK Debit cards.
· 4.5% on the value of all other transactions e.g. credit and charge cards
· 6p per transaction for Fraud detection.

Quite abit more expensive than Protx. Looks like Protx is the best option if I can find a good Internet Merchant Account with a bank.
