I am planning to start a book club together with my forum members, the interest is there and we already selling many books every day via amazon.

I was looking at amazon, they offer a corporate account, but dont say anything about discount on bulk orders. BN has a bulk order facility and even ships to different adresses around the world, which would suit us as our audience is world wide.

I could ask publishers directly to order in bulk and try to get a decent discount, but i assume the shipping costs would eat that up quickly...

well the question is, are there any dropshippers for books out there? We focus mainly on books on antiquity and the usual amazon ranking of the better selling books in my niche are around 20.000 to 50.000 sales rank. Would an order for a single title of 100 books actually make a publisher willing to give for such a book a decent discount, or am i still way too small?

cheers

You are going to want to contact a publisher's "special sales" department.

You will need to buy the books non-returnable, but will be able to get a discount on the list price of at least 50%. Possibly higher. Note that this is the usual practice at trade publishers. Academic publishers may not do this.

Of course, you will still have to ship the books....

Try Baker and Taylor. They can drop ship for you if you have a minimum annual commitment.
