Because it is very expensive to acquire new customers I want to take some steps to make customers return to my shop. Competition is getting tougher so I think just processing the order fast and accurate will not be enough in the future.

The goods I offer are consumed in 2-3 months so chances are high that people will be ordering again.

What additional steps could I take to make them return to my shop and not order somewhere else.

What do you do to make customers order again. Offer discounts? Write newsletters?

Some suggestions:

1. Have stellar customer service. (Customers will come back to you if you treat them well)
2. Build loyalty through a rewards program (make it beneficial to them if they buy more from you)
3. Tiered pricing model (get them to purchase greater quantities)
4. Email a promotion, 1-2 months after a purchase, that includes a % off discount for replenishing items previously purchased.
5. Preferred customer discounts

Free samples, newsletters (print & email), catalog - anything under a few dollars you can afford.

I think 4 is the best idea, and one that I have used successfully.

Do it by mail as I hate receving these sort of invites via email.

Sticky labels/coasters/pens/mouse mats - anything with your website address printed on it.

Keeping your name in front of them is the most important thing.
