PHP with CSS - happy for there to be a cost

I'm fairly new with ecommerce, and although I have installed and configured an oscommerce and a zen cart store, these were both in a test environment.

I am now in a position where one of my clients wants an online store, and although zen cart and oscommerce worked well, I feel a bit vulnerable just relying on forums for support.

I have been trying to research the options but I'm going round in circles.

I'm ideally looking for a php solution with the ability to alter layouts using css. I'm quite happy for there to be a cost, as I would like there to be some form of support.

Any suggestions on where I can find more info or reviews of different software. I'm based in the UK (if that's at all relevant). Thanks

X-cart has the benefits of customer forum based support as well as direct support from the developers. They can also do custom mods for reasonable prices.

The default X-cart templates are the standard mess of embedded tables for layout, but there are some well-respected third party providers that provide templates that are fully CSS based.
