I dont know what US regulations are specifically, but if its similar to Canada, there are lists of items/materials that may be restricted or have quotas placed on them - mostly you just pay duty on whatever you bring in, but sometimes if your imports dont satisfy certain requirements they could be held in customs. take note of labeling laws, etc
