I am lookling for a service which provides a payment gateway. I set up my own SSL server and communicate with this gateway (e.g. a CGI program) and the buyer will never leave my website (just like the Paypal Pro). US people can easily get their own merchant accounts but how about non-US people?

What country are you in? Check out Barclay's if you are in the UK and check to see what electronic payment providers they are compatible with.

You might also check out protx

I am in China and use third party payment service at present. To make my new project more professional, I think a SSL order form on my own server is required. It seems we have a lot of members from country like India. How do they accept payment from their own websites directly?

Well some companies require that they leave your site because of their business plans. Your best bet would check with your local banks to see if they will support a merchant account. You can also check out worldpay as well to see if they support your country
