Inventory limited by daily production

Can any carts handle this?

I have a customer that wants to sell cakes on her website. She feels that she cannot produce more than 50/day, and she'll only ship weekdays overnight. This means, no Friday baked cakes.

What she envisions is a shopping cart that will take the cake order, and then give people a list of available delivery dates. Delivery dates would be Tue-Fri, and would also depend on whether or not she's filled her production capacity for that day.

For example, if people have purchased all 50 cakes that she can produce on Tuesday Sep 13 (that will be delivered Wednesday Sep 14), the shipping option in the shopping cart will NOT offer that date as an available delivery date option.

...

In the past, I've felt that a decent shopping cart doesn't need to cost more than $200, and I've found carts that did a great job at that price, but none of them do this. This customer seems to be willing to pay what it takes to get this feature.

So I was wondering if some of these higher end shopping cart packages might do this?

Are you looking for an ASP / PHP / .NET solution?

Given those choices, PHP. I'm using a Linux server. I'd prefer perl, but if it's a canned, pre-written app, I'll take what I can get.

I know. If I go into Control Panel and click on Sticky Mail, it says:
