Payment solutions for non card holders

Any recommendations for payment solutions for a UK company selling to US

I currently use Worldpay for card holders but I am getting increasing number of requests for other methods of payment from non card holders in the US. Our average transaction is 25-50$. I have looked around but have been defeated by some of the jargon.

Ideally what I want to find is a method that takes in small order amounts and remits sterling to the UK, like Worldpay. Currently I price in Sterling and convert to USD if required and the card company really does the currency conversion.

Any experiences of electronic cheque systems etc would be appreciated.

You dont say roughly how many transactions you are doing, there are a number of US companies who will allow cheque payments and then send the money over to you.

Sounds strange. ATM/Check Cards are ubiqutous here in the United States. They function exactly like credit cards. And in general, you need a credit card to have an internet connection.

These people must be fibbing and/or are reluctant to use credit cards online (as opposed to making less secure charges at a restaurant, department store, etc).

What about Western Union? These folks can always walk into an office and drop the cash.

i'd say for that many orders, it could pay you to open a US$ bank account over here in the UK and ask these people to send you a US$ cheque in the post.

and yup, sure sounds odd all those people not having credit cards ....

maybe they have discover cards tho? try adding another online payment system that allows them to use discover ...
