U.S bank Accounts for non residents

There had been several posts regarding this issue ,but since most of them has been closed ,i am reopening a new thread to allow the guys who participated to give us any news ,any update from Valis? it doesn't look like any 1 is bothering to talk about it any more..is it that impossible?!

You might contact etrade. Valis was supposed to be working with them. We have had a few customers open up an account with Etrade actually and then tehy were able to transfer the money from Mt Morris to Etrade to help satisfy the YKYC (you know your customer) regulation

Valis promised to contact me if they figure out a resolution but they didn't..maybe they just solved the problem of their existing customers as u said,but they still don't open new accounts,otherwise they would have told me.

The existing ones - quite possibly because then it could be a little easy to satisfy the YKYC (you know your customer) banking regulation.

But contact etrade directly. And Valis again. It will not hurt. I do know that Valis has been trying to find another bank - it is just difficult because of all the costs involved.

A lot of banks will also open up a bank with a good size deposit. And also check with your local banks. Sometimes they have a tie with a US bank. And then they could help you get the account that way

I called Etrade and they said they can't do it,just like Valis they used to do that but after the patiriot regulations they stopped..i can't believe its impossible to do this anymore!

Well I did call etrade as well - they said no. But then a week later - one of our international clients was approved. I think they are doing it on a case by case basis

I don't think any could open such account,they didn't take any input from me to determine if i am eligible or not..they just said NO..they didn't even take my name..they said that i can only open a brokerage account (deposit only)..so forget it!

This doesn't work for E-commerce projects,its for use with Shares and Stock market.

I realize that, but they do have bank accounts as well. And a few clients overseas use them as a bank account and some MAPs that will support overseas merchants recognize them as a bank account as well and support that
