We are experiencing a decline in conversion rates at the moment and would like to know if anyone else is experiencing the same.

We have checked all normal things like drop in traffic, system availablity etc. but there is no obvious answer.

cheers

Need just a little bit more information. Depending on the type of products you sell seasonality could be a major part. The Summertime does tend to lag for most merchants.

Ex: Prom dresses for instance will probably not sell as well as thy did 3 months back.

May, June, July and August are probably the worst months for e-commerce.

The only thing I can advice you: PREPARE yourself for September and after that, make sure you are ready for the first Christmas shoppers!

do you keep a log of all changes made to your site? if you do review the log to see what has changed that might affect your conversion rate.

Surreal .. Huge dip this morning, lowest in a year.

Interestingly, though, had a great day yesterday.

Never take ones days or even a few hours as statistically relevent. Look over the past month (or week at least) and analyize.

Maybe your merchant account has been sketching out and preventing order completion. Maybe the fancy image javascript window you made is causing errors. Maybe a db table is whacky/broken. Could be so many things...

But be absolutely sure you actually have a problem first. Did you have a similar downturn this time last year?

Did you loose a traffic source that may have been converting at 15% causing your over all to go from 3% to 2%?

Sorry - without more details you just generate more questions than answers.
