I'm learning as I go, so any help is appreciated.

I have a 2 part question: First, I am looking for a way to have customers order a product while having them provide an email address, then for me to have a data base of those email addresses for me to send a newsletter off.

Also, I am looking for a way to host streaming video that can be viewed only once after payment. Can this be done?

Basically this is for a family business that is selling intellectual property (you pay to download a pdf file or pay to view a conference given).

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Chessboxer Welcome to WW,

Yes it is possible to have all the features you have listed in a shopping cart. It might be worth your time to look at a out of the box shopping cart. Do a search for litecommerce. I think that shopping cart will do everything you want.

"oscommerce"

oscommerce is not that easy for beginners to just start using it.

I recommend you the litecommerce rather.

For a beginer is note quite that easy because you need to now alittle about php ,but With oscommerce there is plenty of support available through there members and the forum.
