Just need cart, order notification and payment modules

I am building my own store catalogue using php & MySQL.

I can handle this quite easily because the products are very straightforward and the payback I get will be some added flexibility of design and layout that I might not get with an "off-the-shelf" solution.

But I need to bolt on to it some pre-written software to handle the Shopping Cart, Order Notification and Payment modules.

I have come across a little free package called "Mal's e-commerce" which looks as if it will do the job admirably. But I am interested to know if there is anyone else providing software for this particular niche - rather than the full-blown e-commerce package.

I would appreciate any pointers you can give me.

I use Mals on a couple of our sites, it works very well with PHP/Mysql.

There are quite a few extra little bits and pieces available for it, your best bet is to check out the Forum on Mals website.

If there is anything in particular you need to know please feel free to sticky me, I dont claim to be an expert, but I have built a quite a few sites using this method.

From what I can see it is clear and functional, and just does the business.
