So.. do you guys think this is a good solution for small businesses?

I am planning on running a small website that charges user $2 per purchase, so whats a good altnerative for me? Is there anyway to get around the 30 cents per transcation fee for credit card processing?

Oh also, do you guys think SSL certificate is necessary? if so where is a good place for it? I saw .. a post in this thread that suggest another company for $49/month.. Do you guys have a good SSL place to suggest me?

It seems like the paypal merchant pro plus a SSL certificate might just work for me : )

It might be hard building a business on solely small transfers, mainly because of costs such as SSL certificates as you mentioned.

Many Web-hosts has SSL certificates that they offer, some offer them for free most wants to get paid. I would say that SSL is very much essential, at least if your aim is for your customers to give up their credit card information. You can also do it using PayPal though.

Yes I understand the $2 deal ain't really top of the line revenue model.. but thats only temp before I can get a sizable following. heck I might as make it free : ) Actually, I do intend to make it free, but this $2 is for the premium users.. so I have to differentiate it somehow..
