I Have a verified Paypal Business account

Can I request a cheque in my personal name?

Hi,

I have a verified business paypal account. I am from India and the only option for me to withdraw money is by a Cheque.

With a Business account, is it possible for me to request my checque payable in my Personal name , rather than my business/company name?

Also, can I ask them to send the Cheque in US dollars instead of Indian Rs as paypal would not give me better conversions?

I don't know whether you can specify how the check will be addressed. One possibility (I don't know how easy this would be) would be to open a Personal account and transfer the funds you want to withdraw to your Personal account first, and then request a check from that account. You shouldn't be charged a fee for sending money from your balance to your Personal account, but you may need to check your Receiving Limit and Withdrawal Limit on the Personal account before trying it.

Downgrading to a premier account can solve your problem. As for checks in USD, the only possible way to withdraw USD from your Indian Paypal account is to link a US Bank Account with Paypal and withdraw electronically.

A USD paypal check may be a violation of FEMA act.

Hi,

pp_rb....Infact i was considering the option you suggested. I am waiting for my CC statement to verify my paypal personal account. But as you again mentioned...withdrawing limit for my personal account could pose some problems as compared to my business account which has a limit of $2500.

I did check around the option in my account, if there is a possibility of requesting a cheque in my personal name for my business account, but don't see any. I read the help files also, but no mention of it anywhere. I have also written to the support team asking for help regarding the same.

Thank you Manish for the input. I am currently studying business law also :) ...so let me check FEMA and see what can be done.It was only a couple of weeks back, I upgraded my Premier account to Business account.
