I was planning to use PayPal for my second website only to find out that I cannot have a second my business name on PayPal. Would it be nice if we could change the business name based on which website we're using it for? What's the reason behind the limitation? Is there an easy way to get around this? Thanks.

I e-mailed paypal over a year ago with the same question and their reponse was simply that they only allow one account per person - regardless of how many websites you own.

Run it through a different bank account (start another account). You should be doing that anyways for income and tax reasons. I run 3 different businesses and keep all of them seperate for financial, tax, and liability reasons...

You can't have more than 1 site per entity. You can have as many account as you want if you register your accounts using different company names. Of course, withdraws can only be made to bank accounts with the same company names.

If your concern is what your customers will see during checkout and on their credit card statements, you do have some control over those settings. For your checkout pages, you can set up custom page styles, so you can display a different logo on the checkout pages for the different sites. (However, the checkout process will still use your registered Business Name within the body of the pages.)

You can also edit your credit card statement name within your Profile under Payment Receiving Preferences. However, you can only select one name that will be used for all payments, so whatever you choose would be used for both sites.
