I sent a package to Netherlands on 3/26/05, the customer contacted me recently, said he had not got the order yet. I think the package gets lost. I know the USPS won't be responsible for the loss, but do you guys have good idea to get the compensation or just no way?

Its Global Priority Mail - unless you insured it, there is no way to get your money back. Its the cost of doing business. If it is too expensive to lose, ship it using a method that includes tracking and insurance like Global Express EMS. Or use another carrier like UPS, FedEx, or DHL.

Even if you insure it, there's no guarantee that you'll get any compensation. We stopped insuring packages that we send internationally because of this (US postal service blames the other country's postal system, and vice versa).

If packages are lost, then we swallow the cost. Expensive goods are shipped via courier, inexpensive goods via the postal system.
