Paypal questions that are confusing me

I want to ask questions about "PayPal"...

In general I want to know how it works to accept credit cards on our sites but I dont mean their technical details at all..

I just want to know how the money goes from the buyer to them to me..

also I want to know why would they need my credit card number? isnt it enough the bank account.

Dont they recieve my money then get their commision then they send the rest for me?

They are asking for your credit card number to basically "prove" that it is you and to "verify" you. You give them your bank account number as well - they will deposit a few cents in there and you tell them how much was deposited. This verifies your bank account. Now when you have money, you tell them you want it & they will give you choices. You can have them deposit to your bank, send a check, etc
