AOL - newsletters and general stuff

I've always had my doubts about AOL. It seems that anyone who registers with the messageboard never gets the 'click here to confirm' reply email; paying customers never get the 'welcome email' either.

It's like AOL part blocks email messages. It will let through hand typed replies but any automated reply, well the recipient never receives it and they then send a "I subscribed to you earlier but you never repied..."

Recently I received a message from a list I subscribe to. They say that they are removing all AOL addresses from their email list because:

"AOL submits spam reports to various spam services when they receive our newsletter. Future newsletters will not be sent to AOL email addresses. Please sign up for a free email address at a site like Hotmail if you wish to receive the newsletter"

I'm concerned about that. I'm convinced that AOL will put sites on the "hmm, block it" list if newsletters are sent to an AOL address.

Who's paranoid here? Me or AOL? Should I remove AOL addresses from my newsletter list too or let it ride?

AOL - wouldnt surprise me if they were blocking their email addresses for newsletter inadvertantly.

You may be lucky and find a whit email address where they can clear your name and allow your mailings to get through, I know of some others that do this.
