Voice over IP service needed

Hi guys,

I am a marketing manager in software company. We want to intriduce international phone technical support. The new technology - VoIP seems fitting perfectly for this task.

I tried to pay SkypeOut but they rejected all my cards - I don't know why.

So can you recommend some another good VoIP services.

I'm using Skype, it's very good for PCtoPC calling from or to USA. For other countries, I think the sound quality is still not OK.

I use Mastercard, it's OK, but not for Visa card.

Sorry, I'm a newbie when it comes to VoIP services. Can anyone explain how the phone part works? Do you have to buy a phone that connects via Ethernet? Or is it an adapter that you hook up to your regular phone? Will it work with cordless phones as well?

Sun, the phone is a regular phone. The only difference is theres a special converter in between your telephone and your Internet connection that takes care of the VoIP conversions and hands your telephone the correct data type.

Does the converter come with the service? Or is that a special "one-time" fee? ;)

It depends. For example. we bought the start-up kit actually at Best Buy for about $60. And then Vonage will give you a rebate for $60 if you sign up thru them. They seem to have a pretty good system. It seems if you refer one person, that person can also get one month free and the orginal person gets two months free.

You can quite easily setup "local call rate" inbound numbers to terminate to a VoIP PBX and do all that for free.

I think they're available in most countries now. Caller a few cents a minute (not premium rated).

I am thinking of using VOIP. However, I don't really know how it works.

I am located in Australia and have a problem with providing call in service to my customer.
I am hoping that VoIP can solve my problem.

I have checked with Vonage and they require that I have a US credit card, US billing and shipping address.

I have a couple of questions about Skype:
1) Does Skype allow international users to use their service?
2) Also, does the customer on the other end call a normal US number?
3) Do they need any equipment?
