Advice on expert software development

I want to build a site that merges a piece of proprietary software into my website, does anybody have any ideas how i could interface the site? Is Oscommerce the tool i need?

Also on a separate point I would like to develop this proprietary bespoke software that is able to analyze scanned images and use a set of instructions and then return a value from a database of answers. Does anybody have any ideas how much this would cost?

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

No I would like to I would like to implement this on my site so that i can offer a unique service. If someone comes along later and decides that want to buy the site then they very welcome to buy it incl. the software, at the rioght price of course.

The question is where can I get such software developed?
