Hi,

I was just wondering where i can get figures for the following.

1 - how much is the used car market worth on the internet.

2 - How many people actually buy cars online

etc etc

Where can i start to look for this information please

It helped me once for similar task:
- contact your local governmental statistical bureau
- try to find your local Internet providers association -- they might have some Intenret-related on hand.

I think more people are likely to search for cars online but will not commit to the purchase online.

Try word tracker to see how many searches are on your key words for the site. That will give you a better idea of your market.

You can make this specific as the searches will be local
eg:

buy widget southampton
buy widget edinburgh

People looking to buy cars will not travel the length of the country unless it is a really good deal.

Also you can target brands & models

buy 4x4 edinburgh

I noticed there are a lot of used cars for sale on ebay if that helps.
