Best Format for long form sales page

I have been asked to help a buddy put up a web page to sell an downlaodable collection of articels he wants to sell. He has seen those long form sales pages with testimonials guarantees etc.

Anybody have any experience with these or advice about resources to learn the best ways to design and create?

There are so many eBooks, reports, and courses out there it will make your head swim. The general theme is pretty consistent. Use power words like free, guarantee, secret, revealed, little known, exclusive, etc. Create a sense of urgency by limiting the offer. Get friendly with the visitor. Talk directly by saying "you" a lot. Make yourself seem just like a regular person that has been successful discovering a really simple "system".

I don't use any of these techniques. But since there are so many sites out there, I must presume that they work. I've read lots of the free eBooks. Go search the web. You'll finds tons of them.
