After many years setting up sites for clients (set the sites and carts but did not set the financial setup) I decided to make a few $ for myself.
I have my e-comm site ready and a module ready to fire with Authorize.net
Next : From here it is not clear in my mind ...
I need to set up an account with an Ahorize.net reseller (OK I have one ready to be signed)
But from there how do I establish the actual liking between the cart and the credit card processor?

You don’t need to. Your cart will not link to the processor it should be linked to the Auth.net gateway, and the gateway in-turn will communicate with the processor.
Your Auth.net account will have to be programmed by your processor or ISO with you merchant account information. Once that is all set you’re ready to go.
