Are they worth the effort?

Just taking a look at Amazon and saw that they now allow you to post your own items for sale, I was wondering if any one here has had a go at this?

Did it work?

Yes, I have used Amazon.ca shop listing for a long time. It's great because you do not have to pay Amazon fees, until your item sells. I have successfully sold many cd's and DVD's with this program. I am not sure about the US fees, but the Amazon Canada fee page says:

Depends on what you are selling. If you are selling something that is already for sale on Amazon, you might have luck.

However, it becomes much more difficult to sell things that are not generally for sale on Amazon. The reason is that the zShop listings are usually buried far below everything else. So they have to wade through a lot to even see your listing. That's particularly true now that Amazon does full-text of books.
