I recently received three order from Iran but all payments are declined by the payment gateway (I use 2checkout.com). The given reason is "ip-Iran, Islamic Republic of- OFAC Sanctions- no sales accepted fro IRAN"

My customers tried to pay me via paypal, failed; then I ask them to pay via 2checkout, failed. How can I get money from them? So I have to open an account outside US, like e-gold?

thanks

1. Ask them to tell you who they bank with.
2. Ask your bank how much they charge to negotiate a check from this bank.
3. Add the charge to the cost of the order and then ask the buyer to send you a check.
4. Send goods only after the check has cleared.

Genuine purchasers will have no problem with this.

>>> OFAC Sanctions

Before you look for alternative payment processing avenues, just do a quick Google search on your country's trade policies of doing business with these countries.

If everything's fine, then look for non-US credit card processing companies.

HOLD ON!

I wrote that in bold because you need to take a deep breath before doing anything. It is a felony in the United States to do most business with Iran.

What country are you from?

If the United States, do NOT try to make alternative arrangements for payments. Walk away.

Yeah never ever use a letter of credit here, Ive known Iran to be rotten to the core only accept wire transfer to a bank account thats used for the purpose.

Just ask for a SWIFT wire transfer, or even something like Western Union?

But yes, double check to make sure you can trade with Syria or Iran from your country. fco.gov.uk can advise you on sanctions from the UK and EU.

Trading with some of those countries could get you an extended vacation, somewhere in Cuba, free food and room.

I'd walk away from it, I've had some very big orders come in and they are just not worth the hassle

If you're from the US, don't take orders from Iran.
