Came across the site pure and simply by accident by searching for FREE E Commerce packages..

And that goes onto my next question.

Are there any easy to use and configure FREE packages out there?.

If there are what are they?.

And if not what do you recommend we are in the process of setting up a small business and every penny counts.

All advice appreciated and hey what a great site.

Thanks again

Tim

Hi tim and welcome to webmastersworld.

Ok try Oscommerce is free and very powerful accepting all the major cred card processors.

if you have a few quid to spare Id suggest webgenie, can do most of what OSC can do it doesnt have a limited license and is spiderable, customiseable etc etc.

As you have no readies to spare to OSC.

Or better still write your own catalog and add MALse.com cart to your site - the best mid option.

I do I do I do.

It allows you to write your own catalog and add pay now buttons while handling all the tricky integration thingys with the merchant.

Its great you should check it out.

OK..Since reading and glancing through the 72 paeges of info.. I now realise I should have been more specific.

Right here you go.

Setting up a small business...what I would like is a package which is designed for the complete nugget (myself)....I have no programming skills..however i am very conversant with software packages office frontpage etc.

So therefore need an easy to use package...basically what you see is what you get. (obviously the cheaper the better if they are comparable.)

Also need to get it hosted on my existing provider (Freeola) www.freeola.net .

I am based in the Uk and order will only be coming from the Uk.

I am not that bothered at processing payments online as our small business will be getting merchant services soon.

However would like to take payment details via the site.

I hope this is more specific.

Apologies

in a word Webgenie.

Its a fil in the blanks self generating system, the CGI scripts can be configured easily by filling in the blanks or even if you cant do that, they will do it for you for free.

Its so easy.

They do offer a free downloadable demo version so you can get to grips with it, which took me about 5 minutes.
