'Brand Widget Red Bottle Lavender Scented (200mls)'
Google picks them up fine in keyword searches and have good conversion from entry direct to product page as you would expect. My problem is I don't know what to do with the Page Title for my index/home page.
For aour biggest keywords, Google displays the index.html with an indended product page.
We sell a couple of big brands and some more unknown stuff. I have tried with 'By Brand X & Brand Y at Widget.com' and 'Shop for Brand X & Brand Y at Widget.com'
Recently I tried an amazon style Title 'www.Widgets.com: Welcome' but click through's dropped dramtically.
Any advice on best index page Title when selling a variety of brands of different stuff?
"Buy" at the start of your title will certainly help if you are selling something, as this will stand out on the serps when people are looking to buy a product or service etc.
You are weeding out your potential customers from the serps, this also makes your site relevant to what they are looking for.
Bek.
If your site sold perfume, it would be very difficult to attain a top 10 for the single word perfume, but the various keyword suggestion tools could point you to several other keyword phrases that experience large search counts on a monthly basis.
