Last year (uk market) the silly season started around US Thanksgiving maybe a week earlier, late compared to the year before which was around the last week of October/first week of November.

What is everyones prediction for this year, especially in the UK. Or has it already started. Hopefully no postal strike.

I provide services and products to many ecom sites
Toy sales are up 10x the normal rate and at the rate of last holiday season.
Clothing sales are up 3x the normal rate yet behind last years holiday rate.
General merchandise seems pretty much the same as last holiday season except for a few specialty items that are up 1.25x.
The peak should fall between the 8th and the 12th, if it follows last year.

It started for us on Black Friday, day after Thanksgiving.

Todays traffic was through the roof...not may conversions till late in the day......when the markets pop like they did today, we usually see heavy daytime searches, calls, and orders.......

Likewise, on the opposite side our non-Holiday site that sells non-seasonal repeat/maintenance products sees an annual nosedive every year and today, Dec 2nd, was the big hit and given past years history the next few days we'll probably try to play a little golf while all of you work through the night :)

Has Christmas finished yet (in terms of online orders)?

I'm hoping to see a surge this weekend particularly as Google has at long last put Froogle on their homepage here in the UK. Adwords campaign is also still going strong.

Started for a while back im doing good! Although I can now smell when the shops are running of a product as teh orders start to climb for it!

At least im prepared this time around, plenty of stock, packing materials and MONEY for stock.

Last year I was stuffed didnt know how things were going to go and wasnt expecting a massive upswing, it did and caught me unawares.
