My ad in industry e-newsletter would be effective?

Is it worth to pay for email marketing?

Hi,
I am considering a possibility to pay for newsletter.
They offer email test (15k subscribers), which is $50 CPM.

Also they say:
Click-thru tracking is when our company records how many subscribers click on your link and visit your site. Opt-out/undeliverable tracking/ reporting shows which subscribers unsubscribe to the newsletter (opt-out) and which subscribers did not properly receive the newsletter (undeliverable). We can also report to you how many of the subscribers have successfully read the email.

So is it still worth to pay for? I heard that banners are dead but e-newsletter are feeling better. Any positive experiences with email marketing?

Thank you!

We do email marketing - we send an email either announcing new ranges or discounts every month.

The revenue generated from this more than pays for the monthly cost of an email service.

Few things to consider....

Do they have lists that directly relate to your industry?

Where do they obtain the names from? (Is it an optin list? double opt/in?)

And let me get this straight, its $50 for 1000 impressions? Surely not, or ateast it is surely alot better if you move beyond the test phase?
If not then I would imagine you could get ads placed on sites that are very much on topic, for alot less.

Are you selling a product or service that will return enough revenue to justify a return of 1 click for every 1000 impressions and 1 sale for every 1000 clicks?
