One product to sell

How should the sales page look like

We have a fairly large info/content site and made a couple of months ago a nice in house product that does sell fairly well. It is our only product we sell so we didn't install a shopping cart system, but just a simple page that looks more or less the same then the other info pages and a paypal button on it.

Now when looking at our sales page i know it does not look right and rather amateurish, and i got the feeling we could sell much more if done right. My question is how do you best integrated a single sales page in an info site, and how should it look like (we only use paypal)...

I appreciate any infos and tips.

cheers

Greetings,

Even though you are only selling one product, you may want to use a shopping cart. This will add a more professional touch to your site. osCommerce is relatively easy to set up and in the long run, you may sell more of your products.

It's will be totally overkill to install any shopping cart program for one item. The time spent on setup could be better spent on designin the sales page.

I'd just find an online store where you DO like the looks of the item page and copy the look and feel and match colors/fonts etc to match your site.

Good copy, good photo (if there is one) and a call to action. It also doesn't hurt to pre-sell from other pages on the site.

You might prefer Mal's Ecom shopping cart, it interfaces with PayPal and is free. Easy, just post the code on your page the same way.

I think no shopping cart is needed. Only PayPal and you're done.

Take WebmaterWorld as an example.

thousands of pages [google.com] and only one main product [webmasterworld.com] to sell ;)
