Good cart.. but how do you edit?

I miva is a good basic cart from what i can see, but how do you edit individual files. The file I was to edit is the checkout file, anyway to edit this particular file?

Side note to the above post....

I really just want to edit the payment option and shipping options in the checkout menu to have a default of my choosing...

ie... right now it's defaulted at pay by check and i want the default to be paypal

Am i at the mercy of Miva or can I actually control the default (by default i mean the choice preselected in the drop down menu?

Not sure how to help with the specific change. I just wanted to make sure that you know about Miva's User Groups.

It's an email list where you can get all the help you need with questions pertaining to the specifics of Merchant from other users and developers. You can joing the list and search through the archives at miva.com under support/user groups.
