Not sure if this is the right forum, but i'm sure it'll get move to the right on if it's not.

I would like to employ a marketing person, first off for one day a week and have a few questions that you guys might be able to help me with...

1. In the UK, roughly how much do you think a marketing person would cost?
2. A marketing person should eventually cover their own costs in increased revenue - anybody any idea of roughly how long this should take?
3. Is it possible to get a hybrid marketing person - one whose expertise is on the web AND in the 'real world'. Ideally I'd like a person who knows not only the internet, increasing traffic etc but also is familiar with and has contacts with journalists etc..

Thanks

1. Anything from around £14k to £50k really (full-time per annum)

2. I would say that it depends on the type of marketing undertaken and also the potential value of sales generated. For example PR work is great for increasing awareness, but may not directly lead to increased sales. Running pay per click advertising and generating thousands in sales could easily cover a salary.

3. Yes, there are lots of people with traditional and new media skills out there. I am one of them but I am happy in my job :)

Does anyone have any idea of how I can find a person like this? I'd rather not go the route of online job advertising - and was hoping through word of mouth there would be recommendations.. I know specific URLs aren't allowed here so you can sticky me with any info..
