WANTED: IDEAS

Recently I purchased an expired domain, with about 2000 to 3000 unique visitors per day. The site has dating/adult related visitors.

I have used Adsense for a while, but they (Google) didn't like the fact that all traffic (99%) is from China. Of course that is what I got told in so many words, but that's something else, and of topic.

My question is what kind of ecommerce is possible with my visitors commming from China? Until now I noticed that the chinese people are not the biggest spenders if it comes to credit card use. After trying some affiliate programs, I can see my visitors signing up for things as dating to gambling, but it does not come to an actual sale, what would result in a commision for me.

Anybody a good idea, things to try in this growing new market?

I look forward to hear from you.

< Until now I noticed that the chinese people are not the biggest spenders if it comes to credit card use.>

FYI
They do not have a developed system yet.Only a minute % of the population has a visa/mastertcard etcOnly International Hotels and top expensive tourist shope will accept them.
Most Chinese(in China not Hong Kong) only have a national debit card,no use outside China or Hong Kong.
We are in China and are waiting for the changes to occur so we can point our marketing inwards instead of to the rest of the world as it is at present

Thank you moneymancn, I had no idea the amount of creditcard holders was this low in China.

I guess I will just hold on to this domain and see what the future brings on ecommerce in China.

The dating scene with affiliate programs does not bring me a penny, but there's not much can do I see.

Does this mean by the way, that the chinese don't buy things on the net, or in a different way?

Not at present in any significant way.
2 problems.

Payment-only way is to send the money by postal orer or make a bank to bank transfer

Lack of confidence-that the supplier will actually send the goods once you have paid for them seems to be the biggest factor though. Most only trust COD.
No credit bureax in place so you cannot be penalised enough for bad behavour(buyer or seller}and of course no one knows what a chargeback is as the buyers have no protection by the law yet!
Caveat empor- is the rule of the jungle here.
Also I do not think the words "refund" or for that matter "customer service" can exist in Mandarin Chinese as no one ever practices them!

Hope that helps!
