Wording things differently

Sounds more positive?

Since we have had sooo many issues with people not realizing our cut-off time for same day shipping, we added this sentence to every product page: *Orders placed after 11:00am CDT Monday - Friday are shipped the following business day.*

Now, maybe I am being a bit picky here, but I was wondering if I worded it this way: *Orders placed by 11:00am CDT Monday - Friday are shipped the same day.*
would sound less negative? I guess I am just wondering if that might make a difference in conversion rates. It basically says the same thing but in a different way. Am I being silly here or is this something that might make a difference. Thanks!

I think you caught something good here. No need to use the negative when you can use the positive.

I would use the second choice, with slight modification -

* Orders placed by 11:00am CDT Monday - Friday will be shipped the same business day *

I think it seems pretty clear. And positive. You'll catch people thinking, "Oh, good! I got my order in early so it'll ship today!"

One thing I tried was to add an auto responder with all emails, I included a piece similar to yours. It was far more effective than FAQ section which people never seemed to read.

Seems to stop silly pestering.

I think actually Im sure that if you reinforce the positive in all that you say to customers they are a lot happier. happy bunnys = More cash in the till.

Thank you both for the input! It annoys me when I see sites that say "we don't do this, and we don't do that", etc, so I figure it's better to put a positive spin on it. Thanks again!
