Hi

I got an e-mail entitled 'Message from eBay memeber'. Apparently it is from some bloke who runs a wholesale company currently based in Athens. Below is the e-mail;

Snipped. Sorry, NO direct email quotes, Terms of Service item #9. You are free to paraphrase an emil without specifics.

Right thats thats.

The thing is, his username on ebay DOESNT have 100% positive reviews, and he hasn't sold on their for months, and only ever a hand ful of times.

Also they only accept instant cash transfers. I had a look around their website and it looks above board. It says they are making a Shopping Cart sytem so you can pay with Credit/Debit card, and they ahve a minimum order of $1500.

They have a phone number and address, but so does Bin Laden (probably). I havent tried ringing them or anything. And they seem to have a large

Uusually I ignore these e-mails, but they are selling things I am very interested in, and would like to order from them as they are competitive price wise.

What do you all think? Should I go for it, or Give it a miss. Sticky me if you want the URL to check them out.

Many thanks,
Craig

Sounds dodgy. Best avoid. Ask yourself "(a) How much will I save if I buy from this crowd, and (b) how much will I lose if it turns out to be a scam of some sort".
Unless a is much larger than b (not likely!) then give it a miss.

Considering how popular "phishing" scams are right now - i would immediately assume that this individual has had their account highjacked by some scammer who is now abusing this person's account to scam other ebay members.

I am sure they will suggest that you send via western union the payment for X Y Z products in order to avoid ebay's fees.

Send the email to the eBay staff and let them investigate the account.

Looks ropey to me - I would pass this back to ebay.
