If someone sold just a few products - didn't make a lot of money on them, so can't afford some of the higher end networks, but wanted a 3rd party solution (as they aren't overly technical) to handle most of the joining, payments, processing, stats, etc - which solution would you recomend?

It's a physical product that needs to be shipped, so some of the digitial download affiliate programs won't work.

I'm doing this as a favor to a friend, so the easier the setup - the better - I don't have the time to mess with an entirely new system, I just want to add the 'click here to join' type code on the site, and then fill out the site forms, and more or less be done with it.

Feel free to sticky me any solutions if you don't want to post them.

Thanks.

What sort of shopping cart do they use? Many of them have affiliate addons.

It's a paypal cart. Pretty much its just a few items that are very useful for a certain set of people, but it's something they put together as a hobby, and some people wanted to buy or promote.

Try a search on google for "start your own affiliate program". I found many free and low cost solutions.
