Customers who use EarthLink spamBlocker

Do they understand their spamBlocker?

My shopping cart sends a confirmation email after checkout. I’m finding emails asking for action by me to allow the confirmation message and subsequent message to get past their EarthLink spamBlocker.

How do you handle these? When you follow the link, there is a form to fill out asking for my name and to enter an image presented pass code.

Apparently if they turn on the highest level of Spam protection, it bounces all email unless you are in their address box.

Does anyone just ignore these, or is this just the current cost of doing business?

I'm sure they set it this way on purpose - starting to see that sort of thing more and more lately. Just click it and smile ... at least they're not using one of the spam filters that just deletes your mail :)

They will get an email that tells them who/what messages have been sent, whether or not you click the link. They can then choose to ignore it and it's deleted after 14 days or they can read it and/or allow future messages to pass.

Definately a problem these days!
On my "thanks for your order" page, it says: you'll be getting an order confirm email from me@mycompany.com, if necessary please make sure your anti-spam filter lets it through. If nothing else, at least I gave them fair warning!

Great... As long as they can and will read their blocked messages, I can just let it pass.
I've only seen a few so far, so it's not a big problem, but could grow into one.

Thanks

added.... I'll add the disclaimer. Thats a great idea.

I've seen a mixed level of understanding. But lately, a greater number of them have already accepted the message before I get to the link. Those that shop online regularly seem to expect that they'll get a confirmation email and then watch for it.
