i'm considering getting an verisign ssl cert. anyone have stories to share about getting/losing a cert affecting their conversion rate?
stories about the verisign one would be particularly pertinent :)

Why not get a chained certificate for $20?
I'm not suggesting, just asking as to why. Anyone?

well, if i cant find anyone at all that says getting a verisign one helped their conversion, i will just get cheapo one. or maybe i'll do the "study" myself and see how it affects conversions.
anyone have info on this? was no one willing to shell out the $349?

To be honest I dont really think that many buyers would know the diffrence between them.
As long as its a secure page I think thats all they want to know.

One web development team I know shows a little padlock icon with the message "You are browsing our secure server." Credit card icons also instill trust.
With a professional looking design, those two things will be all you need to reassure most people.

Good point about professional design, I found sales jumped up when I switched to a professional template.
