Quite liked this idea, I spend a bomb on music CD and would love to be able to try the cd first.

Another habit of mine is to create my own compilation CD's this would be perfect.

Anyone else think this is a good idea?

It would have to be real cheap. I would do it. I would love to download the whole list of top 100 and decide what I wanted.

Napster offers a feature where you can listen to it, before you buy it.

amazon offers the preview mode for some cds as well. But the problem with renting is that you'll probably be able to play them on your PC only. But I listen to CDs only when I'm driving in my car, so it won't help unfortunately.
