Does anyone know of a free script/service/etc. which can be used as a decent interface between users and Paypal?
I'm happy with how it functions, it's just that it looks so lame that I'd really like to give it a bit of a makeover so that it's more in keeping with the site.

You can control some aspects of the header and footer but that's about it.

Not yet, but PayPal recently announced the launch of some new APIs to allow thirdparty developers to build tools around the PayPal enviroment.
I'm sure it's only a matter of time. I suppose you *could* frame the paypal window and use CSS to cover up their menus, but I have no idea what their response to this would be!

Framing it doesn't work, it gives an error. There is nothing you can do as of yet to fully customize it. It is part of the reason I moved to 2CO.com despite its higher cost.

You could try to use Mals-e. It has a much cleaner interface for your shopping cart, but at the end, the user still has to see the old paypal page when confirming their order.
