I want to maintain the look and feel of my site, while accpeting credit card transactions. Paypal is easy to setup, but does not do this. Should I attempt to build one myself (Im new to online security game) or does anyone know of a good payment gateway for me to look into?

Verisign is a great gateway! their service is exellent But their fee is little bit high.

If you want a credit card proccessor! dont apply with merchant esolution. their customer service is horrible. I tried them for a month and I have to cancel my service.

Greetings,

Does anyone out there use SCS Offshore for credit card processing? We are using them but they are rejecting 40 to 50% of the cards mainly due to a "perceived" mis-match between the billing address people write in and the actual address associated with the card. This is really killing the business so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how to get people to write out their address exactly as seen on their credit card statement, and if anyone else is having the same problem. I can't imagine everyone is having the same problem or no one would be using their service. Given that, we must be doing something wrong.

We have an option of going with Paysystems but they want us to be doing $100K/month in sales before we could get a gateway account. In the meantime, we'd have to use a type of account which would take the customer offsite and there is(apparently) no way to customize their page to look like ours.

Does anyone have any clue as to how badly our conversions will drop if we go with a system that takes the customer offsite for payment?

Thanks,

GuinnessGuy

danieljean,
Well, we followed your advice and "dumped 'em". We'll see how this offsite merchant credit card processing works. I guess it can't be much worse than what we had.

Anyone have any stats on what percentage of their customers reach the offsite page and don't complete their orders as well what percentage do not complete their orders when the customers don't have to go offsite.

Thanks

Not too sure about the conversion rate. I really do not think that it matters. I am sure (as always) someone will disagree - but when I am online buying something - all I care about is seeing the secure icon in the lower right hand corner. If I do not see that (which has happened a lot of times) - I do not enter my CC number.
