I was wondering if there was anyone out there who'd integrated a website with the HSBC secure ePayments system ... and, more importantly, would be willing to walk me through a few basic steps?!

Have you got the CPI integration guide from HSBC? This describes the basic process for integration and I've a copy I can send if needed.
I'm not too knowledgable about the integration of the HSBC system, but you do need a few things from HSBC before doing anything else, specifically:
A shared secret from HSBC - used as part of the client/HSBC handshake
A fair whack of patience!
If you haven't already got CPI guide, sticky me your e-mail address & I'll send it over if desired. If you've any specific questions about the integration, I can pass these on to the guy who did the work at this end - can't guarantee a timely response though!
