This is my first post on this forum and I have a shopping cart software question. There are quite a few free shopping carts offered online but most of them require you to use a predetermined template. I need script which will allow me to keep the asthetic design of my site and accept cc's at the same time. (ie. simply adding a "Add to Cart" button to my product pages.) Authorize.net is my gateway and I am close to opening an internet merchant account with my bank. Could someone please suggest some software or a person who could write this for me? I understand that it will cost me, but I am looking for the most cost effective method. Any help is appreciated.

I've spent the last week looking for a solid shopping cart that can be easily integrated into the site my company is developing. There are 150-200+ shopping carts on the market. A few questions to consider... 1) Do you prefer ASP or PHP? 2) what platform is your hosting company running? This will help to narrow down your selections.

We're looking for an ASP solution running on Linux. I found two shopping carts - VP-ASP (under $200) and Comersus (base cart is free). VP-ASP has two versions - one for windows and one for Linux.

So I'd recommend looking for a shopping cart that meets your requirements, can be hosted on your server, and is written in a script in which you are proficient.

Good luck

i'm in this business for a while so investigatin the shopping cart market is in past for me.
once i've found the cart i like. i still work with that for it grows in time. i use the cart not for my own business - i build ecommerce web sites. i use www.x-cart.com
i keep my eyes open communicating with other web developrs and software producers for perhaps one day i would find a cart better and more effective, but nothing is good enough (for me at least) so far.
all my client were happy with what i've done. it definitely worths your time for investigation.

Hi,

We use Mals ecommerce - it is free and easy to use - just add pay buttons and it is customizable

Yep Id say use MAls but beaware the postage rate setting arent very user defineable.

I mean you have a very narrow band within which you can charge, five setting i think.

Apart from that its I think its the best around.
