Match IP address info against credit card info

What techniques do people use to automatically see the country/state/city of the IP address against the credit card country/state/city?

Eg: Display whether or not the IP address is in pakistan but the credit card is in new york..

If you did that, your system would never allow me to purchase from your site: all my credit cards have addresses in either Texas or Florida, yet my IP is in Mexico.

What about travelers?

I suspect in that case most people would probably want to make a quick call to verify that the 1400$ plasma tv you purchased online is going where it should.

The Credit Card country matched or not should be returned by the AVS results. You should now know the country (if it does not match, cancel the order).

The IP address can be looked up. Search Google for "IP Country Lookup Demo". There are a few that let you type in a few IP address to try out country locations - you can buy or subscribe to updated lists.

AOL can cause problems, showing US for people outside the US. Be aware that IP mapping is quite accurate but when it is wrong, it can be completely wrong!
